Good Design That's Not Sublime
To understand what is not considered sublime, we must first take a look at what is. In the interior design world, sublime design can be described as "both beautiful and functional" and "a luxurious and sophisticated way to create a space that meets all of the needs of the occupants" (Willson 2022). My version of sublime design is when something is made to be flashy and over the top. Not only does it meet the needs of its users, but it can also be visually appealing. If sublime design is visually appealing and attractive, design that isn't sublime must be the exact opposite.
